PRIZE MARES

The sum of assessments decides on whether or not a mare is awarded the title of "Prize Mare". The title is awarded by jurors at regional horsebreeding parades where mares compete with rivals from other populations. For further information on this topic, please contact the Trakehner Verband, the Chairman of the Breeding District or the competent Chamber of Agriculture. Apart from the title "Prize Mare" (high exterior score and successful mare performance test), the Trakehner Verband also awards the title of "Elite Mare" as the highest mark of quality for dams who excel both in terms of their own and their offsprings' performance. The winning mares of the central mare registration compete for the title "Winning Mare of the Year" at the stallion market.
